Days of Gray

Needing the courage to live today,
You are here but seem so far away.

This sadness has consumed,
Told it to flee and it has resumed.

Taking a walk on the road outside,
Wanting to run back in and hide.

Feeling blessed, yet cursed with this,
Tiring thoughts, trying to dismiss.

Quit asking why, long ago,
This path to healing is way to slow.

Fighting for the patience to stay,
Even on the days of gray.
