Familiar Waters

Staring into puddles of gray,
That suddenly come alive with explosions of gold fireworks in the dark night sky.

Wonder and curiosity consume me,
As I almost fall into the inviting pale blue pools they have now become…

Dare I dip my toe into these warm, familiar waters that are before me,

spread out,

glistening in the moonlight.

They call my name,
making me feel vulnerable,

naked,

And yet this voice is one I know…
