Persevere Like a Pelican

A pelican dives for food,
Near the shore of the sea,
Waves crashing in,
Winds are somewhat hefty.

The pelican, fights through these winds,
He rests on the choppy water,
Persevering in all these challenges,
His determination does not falter.

Even when the seagull comes,
Following not to far behind
To try and snatch the fish, the meal,
The pelican still doesn’t seem to mind.
