When Heaven Calls My Name

Sitting in the dark,
Feeling sorry for myself,
Remembering the past,
Of how I put Jesus on the shelf…

The storms begin raging,
The lightning comes pounding down,
In the wind… I fall on my face,
And dent my royal crown.

God, do you remember me?
I cry, I weep out loud,
As my tears mixed with rain,
Drip to salt the ground.

The cloud’s depature,
What a memorable scene,
All the mud washed away,
I am cleansed, I am clean.

I resume walking with God,
I bow on bended knee,
With my Father by my side,
I continue my journey.

Until the end of my time on earth,
And I finally see God’s glorious face,
Feel His presence fully,
Drown in His grace.

My Daddy remembers His child,
No more fear, no more shame,
Living in His eternal love,
When Heaven calls my name.
