Too Quiet

Summoning up the words,
Dare I say them out loud,
The Lord hears what’s on my heart,
Even in a noisy crowd.

But I sit here alone,
No other human in sight,
Sitting here with God,
Not a peep comes out, despite…

All the things I want to say,
Why can I not speak with my tongue,
To tell Him about my day,
Why can’t I talk with the Holy One?

God touches my soul,
I bow my head as if to pray,
I feel loved to the core,
He melts my silence anyway.

My cup runs over,
The tears spill out,
Oh how I love my God,
Without a doubt.

Soon the silence is broken,
God fills the gap where I am weak,
I begin pouring out my heart,
I begin to speak.
