Your cadence is written on my heart,
The anthem to which I sing,
Instilled deep within my soul,
As I bid time, til life’s ending ring.
The music of my life plays,
Beats coming fast and strong,
As I wait for a fermata,
My heart sings baritone.
For this is just one song,
The flat to the full chord,
Before the treble indicates the coming,
Of a powerful redeeming hymn of the Lord.
Notes continue dashing,
Across my musical page,
Until You call out my coda,
And I cross onto Heaven’s stage.
