Lonely

I know I am not alone,
Yet, I feel lonely inside,
Dear Lord, am I asking too much,
To want human contact, human touch?

We were created to have,
Relationships with others,
From the womb to birth,
It begins with our mothers.

I know I am not alone,
Yet, I feel lonely inside,
Lost in my thoughts of many,
Wanting someone by my side.

My friends have abandoned me,
My family is estranged,
Can you send someone to help?
I feel like I’m going insane.

I know I am not alone,
Yet, I feel lonely inside,
I don’t want to be like this,
I don’t want to be forced to hide.
