Thank You Daddy

Drowning in destruction,
Not forsaken
Not alone.

I am under presure,
Coming in,
360 round.

Trying to be forced,
To conform,
To conform to this world.

When I am in the pit of darkness,
You’re beside me,
When I look to you,
You pick me up.

Thank you, daddy.

Drowning in depression,
These shackles and chains,
Trying to bind me.

A bubble of protection,
You put around,
I finally feel safe.

I won’t give in,
Even when pushed down,
Pushed down by the enemy.

When I am in the pit of darkness,
You’re beside me,
When I look to you,
You pick me up.

Thank you, daddy.

I won’t give in,
Even when pushed down,
Pushed down by the enemy.
