Once Dark Wings

Disease of life,
Is growing inside
Every day it swells,
Until the day I die.

The clock is ticking,
Time is passing fast,
When I get tired,
It is in You that I rest.

Once dark wings,
Now white,
Carry me in the night,
Flying with the winds of time,
Winds of life, soaring high,
Rising above the sun,
Feathers dropping,
One by one,
Until I can’t fly anymore.

As I glide around the earth,
It’s praises that I sing,
When trouble I choose…sin,
You clip my wings.

I sit so still,
Humble and grounded,
Waiting to hear Your voice,
And then it comes resounded.

Once dark wings,
Now white,
Carry me in the night,
Flying with the winds of time,
Winds of life, soaring high,
Rising above the sun,
Feathers dropping,
One by one,
Until I can’t fly anymore.

When I molt,
For one last measure,
You will take me up,
For I am Your treasure.

In Heaven I take flight,
Over the streets of gold,
I am fully free from any bondage,
Thank you for saving my soul.

Once dark wings,
Now white,
Carry me in the night,
Flying with the winds of time,
Winds of life, soaring high,
Rising above the sun,
Feathers dropping,
One by one,
Until I can’t fly anymore.
