Cycle of Faith

The cycle of faith,
Takes me round and round,
As I find myself clinging,
With my toes barely on the ground.

For I know Your promises are true,
Yet, I work too hard to cling to You.

As my faith changes,
I begin to fight,
I struggle and struggle,
To hold on too tight.

For I know your promises are true,
Yet, I work to hard to struggle to You.

One more transformation,
It is the best,
For I finally give up,
And in You, my faith rests.

For I know your promises are true,
I don’t have too work hard to have faith in you.

Then comes a confrontation,
That knocks me off my feet,
I am back to clinging,
I am so cold from the sleet.

For I know is Your protection is true,
Yet, I work too hard to cling to You.

The cycle of faith,
I need to leave at your feet,
I need to just calm down,
And rest in Your promises sweet.
