Basking In The Silence

Basking in the silence,
Drinking it, all I can,
Focusing on Your Words,
In meditation.

From the distance now,
I hear a quiet voice,
Whispers in my ear,
And I rejoice.

Light shining so bright,
You hold me near,
As I ponder on,
You make meanings clear.

Jesus, sweet Jesus,
How you calm me down,
I was once a wreck,
Until that day I was found.

When I am feeling low,
You take my darkness away,
And when I try to go back,
You get in my way.

And when I run,
You leave the ninety nine,
You give me all I need,
Time after time.

Basking in the silence,
Drinking it, all I can,
Focusing on Your Words,
In meditation.
