Forgive Me

A beautiful scene,
The gray sky before the night,
Hidden hints of gold glimmering,
Before my dreams take flight.

The swirls of color,
Floating all around,
As I love this flight, flying,
With my feet off the ground.

Day dawns, I awake,
Reality bites me hard,
Like shattered glass,
Stepping on a shard.

Oh Jesus,
Let me not fail you again today,
These dreams call to me,
Ones that need to leave, I pray.

What starts in the mind,
Plants a seed,
It grows down to the heart,
My soul must take heed.

Oh Lord forgive my mind,
Forgive my racing thoughts,
These go against Your Word,
And all I have been taught.
