What are all these lines,
That have crept upon my face?
My former blank and boring stare,
Never gave a clue or left a trace.
Now I sit and ponder,
Over all life’s nopes and hads,
And wonder what has happened,
For my face to crack this bad.
Then a sudden realization,
Came flashing across my mind,
I am grinning because I’m happy,
Saying goodbye to the sadness left behind.
As I genuinely smile and study,
At all of these new found wrinkles,
They represent the lines of my life,
Full of straights and squiggly crinkles.
All thanks to my Lord and Savior,
I now smile each and every day,
I am glad to have a reason,
For my face to crack this way.
