Words

Some much power,
Given to the tongue,
So much reflection,
To ponder on,

Because…

On a good day one hears the humor,
On a bad day one hears the hurt,
Don’t know which ones will be received,
With negative, it’s best not to cavort.

Words are the generic poetry,
That play over and over in the head,
Words have the power to lift up,
Words have the power to turn the living into dead.

Dead inside, sometimes gone for good,
Words can kill the inner essence,
But words have made some feel tenacious,
And shine bright with fluorescence.

People exale words without thinking,
People feed on them like food.
Therefore, let your words breathe greatness,
And bear witness to the truth.
