Bright Eyes

Your eyes of light shine brightly,
Piercing down into my soul,
I can barely look at You,
So, I turn and hide in my shadow.

There my past is staring back,
I try to disconnect,
A story so beautifully broken,
One I could not ever predict.

But, You turned my life into,
A beautifully written book,
With twists and turns I did not like,
Some stories I chose the path that I took.

With each page and chapter,
I always came back to You,
For I am the prodigal child,
But that’s something you already knew.

Always a time of celebration,
Everytime I would come back home,
You never left my side,
Even when I felt alone.

Your eyes of light shine brightly,
Piercing down into my soul,
I can finally look at You,
For you made garments white as snow.
