My Secret

You asked me what I hide,
But I have buried it,
Behind walls deep inside.

In the darkest place,
Hidden from my bright soul,
A galaxy far away in space.

I will disclose that it pertains,
To why I didn’t want to be here,
Because of a big storm with painful rains.

You know my strengths and weaknesses,
But don’t know how they were formed,
A big secret I hide in my meekness.

Just gently hold my hand,
And look deep into my eyes,
See the fear of rejection play like a band.

I penned all this out to say,
I love you so much,
But am afraid you won’t stay.

Please come be with me now,
And enjoy all I have to offer,
The fields of unknown we will plow.

For I am so glad you are in my life,
Please do not leave me,
I want to continue our walk without strife.

Becasue I feel totally secure in your arms,
I want you to protect me,
And someday will share the secret that harms.
