Melting

Numb.
I have numbed the pain,
A block of ice I have become,
From people I refrain.

And You slowly chip away.
To find my lowly soul,
Lost in the coolness of my being,
Feeling not so whole.

Polishing my exterior,
Turning me sheer,
You can see right through me,
Your presence is felt here.

For now I glisten in the sun,
My shell of self drips with tears,
Melting away this shallow feeling,
Melting away all my fears.

Soon, I will be a puddle,
Even when I am cold and afraid,
I find myself melting,
At the sound of your name.

Wetting all this dust,
Beneath my weary feet,
You will mold me back anew,
Your love is so sweet.
