Marked With Love

You have marked me with Your love,
A permanent reminder when the seasons changed,
Even when my innocence was stolen,
At at such an early age.

When he stole the sun from my sky,
And introduced me to darkness,
I so long rejected You,
When I lived in cold starkness.

I took so many beatings,
Battered and bruised, I was down,
I finally accepted You,
And gained a royal crown.

You wrote my name in Your book,
Even though I chose to runaway,
I joined the flock of black sheep,
And went deep in sin while astray.

You have loved me through rejection,
And during temporary states of pain,
Through irrational thinking,
And when my life I wanted to take away.

In my heart I just knew,
I was your daughter, your princess,
You were so patient with me,
All while I made my life mess.

As You travel with me on my journey,
Through love, joy, and pain,
You always would see me,
In a garment left unstained.

You were with me when I was weary,
Carried me when I didn’t even know,
I have finally come back to embrace thee,
To the One who marked me with His love.
