Adoration

It’s been so long since we first met,
An everlasting moment in time,
I remember your eyes so true,
Full of life and so very kind.

Little did I know our paths would cross,
And cross again and again,
Our friendship blossoms now,
I pray it will never cease or end.

Occassionally, I catch a strange glance,
And wonder what’s on your mind,
I ponder if you feel the energy,
I emit for you to seek and find.

We are not allowed to be any more,
Than what we’ve already become,
But I would not trade what we have,
For any amount or any sum.

I wander back to the memories,
I hold so very dear,
I sometimes find myself wanting,
Wishing you were here.

Can you sense my feelings?
For I am afraid of rejection,
I guess it will never be known,
Perhaps it’s for our protection.
