The Voices

Seemingly different from the others,
On the inside of my frame,
My mother gave me one,
But they call me by a different name.

These strange visitors,
Do they come from afar?
Why do they torment my mind?
They have already left some scars.

They are not welcome,
I try to pray them away,
But they have made their home,
They are persistent to stay.

Help me, my Lord and Savior,
Their presence they’ve made known,
You are my only hope,
For the voices have now grown.

Louder, LOUDer, LOUDER,
They scream and shout,
I am crawling in my skin,
Please come get them out.

They say I am not worthy,
I am about to come undone,
I can’t take this anymore,
Come save me Holy One.

I flee under Your wing of protection,
Hoping they can’t find me,
I love you my Father,
Thank you for being my source of peace.
