Wind to My Sails

Compass in hand,
Turning the map’s page,
Carrying on to the open sea,
Recessing from You into a rage.

Feeling like a stranger,
You are calling out to me,
Running away in falsehood,
In charge my flesh wants to be.

Just leave me alone here,
I’m too ashamed to look at You,
But You tell me it’s not over,
I am one of the chosen few.

You give me real time hope,
And all of the keys,
To the locks of bondage,
I need to set myself free.

Give me another chance,
I promise I will come,
For this storm of a pity party,
Has gone on way to long,

You hear my weeping,
In Your throne room,
I am praying and crying,
Wanting to come home soon.

Off in the distance,
I see the shore,
The fighting inside me,
I don’t want anymore.

You are always my rock,
Even when all else fails,
Please return the wind,
The wind to my sails.
