Black Bird

My cup runneth over and over,
Spotlight’s shining,
My soul on fire.

Lord, you are my everything,
But this black bird’s coming,
Coming for me from the wild.

Oh black bird,
Black bird of death,
Get off my shoulder,
You try to steal my breath.

With hate festering on the main,
I know forgiveness can be a slow burn,
But black bird,
Your peck is making me insane.

Under the wing of His love,
Weather storming,
But I’m not fine.

Father you are my everything.
Please make them go away,
Black bird is trying.

Oh black bird,
Black bird of death,
Get off my shoulder,
You try to steal my breath.

With hate festering on the main,
I know forgiveness can be a slow burn,
Black bird,
Your peck is making me insane.

This time I am ready
Ready to fight,
Salvation,
Has preserved my life,
But this black bird’s driving me crazy,
His beak is like a knife…

Oh black bird,
Black bird of death,
Get off my shoulder,
You try to steal my breath.

With hate festering on the main,
I know forgiveness can be a slow burn,
But black bird,
Your peck is making me insane.
