Storm

Lightening strikes,
I open my my eyes,
The thunder booms,
Takes me by surprise.

I slip down low,
On the side of the bed,
I kneel and pray,
And bow my head.

From black,
To flashing white.
How I want you,
As I fill with fright.

To fall into your arms,
And let me be safe,
Protect me from this,
For I am afraid.

Don’t let me go,
Wait here until its gone,
And we weather this storm,
Until the light of dawn.
