To Love Again

At first sight,
Took all my might,
Not to love again.

Your sweetness and consideration,
Led to too much adoration,
For, I didn’t want to love again.

A man had made a hole in my heart,
Broke me all apart,
And stole my my inner joy.

All through the beatings,
I whispered soft greetings,
Just to stay alive.

But before me you stand,
As you hold out your hand,
I am glad I chose to love again.
